On the occasion of this Colloquy, Elisa Resconi presented this year's award for the best SFB1258 PhD thesis to Robert Billig from Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, PhD student of Hans-Thomas Janka, for his thesis "Muon Creation and Effects in Supernovae". The award for the best SFB1258 Master thesis was shared by Lisa Schlüter and Christian Karl, students of Thierry Lasserre and Susanne Mertens, from Max Planck Institute for Physics. Lisa Schlüter received her award for her Master thesis "Development of New Methods to Include Systematic Effects in the First Tritium Data Analysis and Sensitivity Studies of the KATRIN experiment" and Christian Karl for "Analysis of First Tritium data of the KATRIN experiment".
