24 May, 10:00, Colloquy with Christoph Wiesinger

We would like to invite you to the second SFB colloquy of SS 22 on Tuesday, 24 May. The colloquy will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 in the IAS Auditorium in Garching with coffee from 9:30. The meeting will be in hybrid mode, meaning that both in-person and remote participation is possible.

Christoph Wiesinger (MPP):
IAXO - the next generation axion helioscope
IAXO aims to detect solar axions, as they are converted into X-rays along a strong magnet pointing towards the sun. This detection could single-handedly resolve the strong CP problem and represent the first observation of a dark matter candidate in the laboratory. I will present the status of the IAXO project and our work towards a low-background silicon drift detector.

Konstantin Springmann (TUM):
Fat Zombies from ALPs (AxionLikeParticles) in the Stellar Graveyard
